At Daphne United Methodist Church we are engaged in various local, domestic, and international mission efforts. We believe Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19) can be carried out through caring for and meeting the needs of those burdened, marginalized, and impoverished (Matt 25:40). Our hope is that by extending a hand to those in need, they will come to know the wonderfully redemptive love and grace of God. If you would like to be a part of the Missions Committee, please contact the church. Throughout 2016 our Missions Committee will be discerning and exploring the unique opportunities God has presented for DUMC's engagement in local, domestic, and international missions. While many non-profits, parachurch organizations, and missionaries are deserving of support, we believe it best to focus on a few key enterprises in order to maximize the use of our resources.

Change for a Dollar (logo)

Change for a Dollar

Change for a Dollar is a weekly giving ministry in which those in attendance at our three Sunday morning worship services are encouraged to give $1 to meet local needs. Through this ministry, we have been able to support local families through the loss of their homes in fires, cover utility costs for widows, widowers, and single parent homes, build accessibility ramps for handicapped and injured patients, provide support to a young girl making blankets for babies in the local hospital NICU (neonatal intensive care units), provide special event costumes and t-shirts for special needs children and so much more!

Family Promise

Family Promise of Baldwin County is a community response to the issue of homelessness in Baldwin County, specifically homeless families with children. They provide temporary shelter, related services and nurturing support to homeless families with children and to assist them with obtaining suitable and permanent housing. DUMC is a host church for Family Promise, and provides housing for one week at a time, various times of the year. You can help in various ways by providing food, staying the night to assist families with their needs, and financially giving to the organization. For more information please contact the church office.

Prodisee Pantry

Prodisee Pantry is a non-profit community emergency food and disaster relief organization. Families who are having trouble making ends meet are given food assistance and information from a caring listener about other programs that may help make their lives more stable. The Pantry provides food to single parents, homeless persons, retirees, families in transition, under-employed and unemployed households, grandparents raising grandchildren and others in need. For more information on how you can volunteer at Prodisee Pantry please visit their website at www.prodiseepantry.org.

United Methodist Children's Home

The United Methodist Children's Home works to heal children, unite families, and change lives. They place children into safe and loving foster care homes while helping to restore family relationships; prepare young adults in the foster care system to make positive life decisions as they transition to independent adulthood; and strengthen and preserve families by providing housing and support to prevent homelessness.
